An Overdue Note

Hello to all our wonderful members and gallery contributors! I have been co-admining this group for almost two years now and I've got a few things that need to be said.

First of all, I appreciate all of your support and am proud to help curate one of the best 'male appreciation' galleries here on deviantArt. We have grown to be one of the largest out there. Out of all of them out there, I think we are probably the best as far as content and selectivity goes. So many of you are incredibly talented and I want to thank you all for being a part of our group and allowing us to showcase your work.

Next, I need to set aside the nice gloves for a second and give a small minority of you and would-be members a heart-to-heart.

When the group founder passed this group along to us he gave us a pretty good rule to go by: quality over quantity. And though we admins may have slightly different opinions on how we go about this, the bottom line is that we are an overall moderately to highly selective group. On an average day I get about 25 submissions and of those I might choose a quarter of them or less. If your work does not get included in our gallery, I am sorry and it is nothing personal against you or your artwork.  Myself and my co-admins are just doing our jobs and exercising our right to quality control. You may not agree and you may be upset, but that's just how it is. And I realize there aren't really submission guidelines here but allow me to spell some common sense out for everyone:

-Submit your work ONCE. We are having an increasing amount of resubmission. If your work doesn't show up in the gallery within a few days, sorry charlie. And no, I didn't make a mistake. If I did I find the work and manually add it to the gallery. Let me drive this point home: DO. NOT. RESUBMIT.

-Though I don't believe we have submissions limits or perhaps they're just very liberal, please do not submit 10 pictures at once of the same thing/subject. I really don't like having to go through the 15 poses of the same model (one of each in color and black & white, no doubt) and picking my two favorites. Narrow your submissions down to one, two or three at a time unless you have several UNIQUE images.

-I am open to suggestions from you all but just know, if you are unhappy with our artwork, you can unsubscribe at any time.

-There are about 100+ other male beauty/appreciation groups out there, some of them a lot larger than ours, some of them are much less selective and some are much more selective out there. You have plenty of other avenues to get your artwork out there. We stand out because we are moderately selective and by the types of work we showcase.

-If we decline your work please spare us childish messages bitching about it. You are not entitled to anything here. It's actually kind of funny to get these comments or notes of outrage, and also a bit puzzling.

-If we decline your work and you decide to leave the group as a result, good riddance. If you only joined us to try and plug your own stuff and not enjoy and support your fellow artists, you don't belong here anyways.

OK nice gloves back on. This needed to be said and I'm sorry that it may be a bit blunt, but let me assure you the vast majority of our members do not fall into any of these categories. We love you all and please keep the great works coming!
